Recycling
Buying recycled products helps "close the loop," creating a demand for the materials recovered in recycling collection programs. Recyclables collected in Valerian's office are returned to the economic mainstream in the form of products people buy and use, which creates jobs, builds more competitive manufacturing industries, adds value to Colorado's economy, and protects the environment all at the same time.
Paper Policy
Environmental responsibility issues are a core component of Valerian's culture. All marketing material carries the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification logo, which supports the highest social and environmental standards in the paper market. FSC-certified paper and print products contribute to conservation, responsible management, and community level benefits for people near the forests that provide paper.
While recycled fiber is a key element of the traditional model for responsible consumption, it is becoming increasingly clear that forest management in the production of wood used for paper manufacturing, has more fundamental importance than recycled fiber. We encourage employees to rethink the need to print every job and when possible, print double-sided to eliminate paper waste.
Our Office
Valerian staff purchased and renovated the 28th Ave. office. Acting as general contractors, Valerian designed and physically developed the unique architectural space of the 1930s warehouse, converting it into a truly innovative architectural experience. The office is a place that reflects the creativity and uniqueness that sets Valerian apart. Approximately 90%+ of the existing building was reused and recycled materials were incorporated throughout the building where possible.
